At Bridgestone it is important to us that we can make a positive contribution to the society we live and work in. Our “Safety at Heart “campaign is one way that we can do that. We actively promote safe driving practices throughout Europe, with an eye on the environment too.

Driving with incorrect tyre pressures, for example, is not only dangerous but expensive too. Four small areas of rubber, each the size of a postcard, are all that a vehicle has its footprint on the ground. Bridgestone has performed almost 30.000 safety checks around Europe during 2007 and 2008, and the stars of Formula 1 encourage drivers to make a planned safety investment. In partnership with the FIA Foundation, the ongoing global campaign outlines the impact on the environment too. Figures from Europe reveal 8.1 Billion litres of fuel are being wasted due to incorrect tyre pressures: 18.4 million tons of CO2 are being released into the atmosphere as a result.
It’s the small things that make a big difference, which is why we invest in tomorrow’s generation too, with our dreams at heArt competition for children. This art competition is designed to encourage children from all over Europe to use their imaginations to show us how they think of safe streets and traffic and to encourage awareness for road safety.
